Sarita Samaroo
A practising Toronto lawyer, Sarita is the principal lawyer and owner of SST Law Professional Corporation, which focuses on real estate law (commercial & residential), business law, and wills and estates law.
She obtained her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Kent in England and obtained her Certificate of Qualification to practice law in Canada from the University of New Brunswick. She also graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Certificat De Francais Pratique. She is called to the Bar of Ontario.
Sarita is often invited to speak at First Time Home Buyer seminars at the branch level with BDC, RBC and CIBC and presents monthly to real estate agencies. She has been invited to speak as a panelist at the University-Guelph Humber to students and faculty, she has been a guest speaker at a Retirement and Financial Planning course at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) and to donors and staff regarding estate planning at the Sick Kids Foundation.
She was the keynote speaker at McMaster University on International Women’s Day for De Groote School of Business in 2023.
Sarita has been featured nationally in Canadian Lawyer Magazine, The Lawyer’s Daily Magazine, The Globe & Mail, REP (Real Estate Professionals) Magazine, CREW (Canadian Real Estate Wealth) Magazine, Mortgage Broker News and My Business Magazine regarding updates in real estate law. Sarita has also appeared on Vision TV on the TV show the Zoomer and Canada One as well as on i-heart radio at 960AM (Sauga Radio).
In addition, Sarita was selected as 1 of 25 women as a trailblazer in the Canadian real estate industry in REP Magazine in the 2018 Elite Women’s Edition.
Sarita was recognized in 2020 and 2022 in the international publications Lawyer Monthly Magazine and by Corporate Live Wire for Innovation & Excellence Award 2023 for real estate law in Canada.
Her firm also recently was awarded the Etobicoke Community Votes Platinum Award in 2022 and 2023 for best lawyers in Etobicoke and best estate lawyers in Etobicoke.
Sarita has recently been nominated in 2023 and 2024 for the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards.
She was formerly Nominating Chair and Board Member for the Branksome Hall Alumnae Executive Committee and is currently a Member-at-Large for the not-for-profit organization WHEW (Women Helping Empower Women).
Sarita is an Advisor to The Sick Kids Foundation as well acts as a Coach and Advisor to The Law Society of Ontario. She is an Ambassador for the Royal Ontario Museum to assist in promoting exhibits of female artists.
Sarita is a panelist and instructor for a Continuing Professional Development e-learning program for the Law Society of Ontario entitled The Foundations of Sole Practice.
She is Corporate Counsel for Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area and Real Estate Legal Counsel for the Crown’s Office on Bay Street.
Sarita has working proficiency in both Spanish and French.
In her spare time, Sarita enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering, biking, yoga, flying Cessnas and scuba diving.
She is also the owner-operator of Panettorino Forno Italiano Bakery in the South Etobicoke community with her partner.
